Efficiency records broken during maiden call of Vietnam-Gulf of India service at GTI

APM Terminals Mumbai, also known as Gateway Terminals India (GTI) welcomed the maiden call of the newly added Vietnam Gulf India (VGI) service this week. MV ESL Kabir, operated by Emirates Shipping Line, berthed at 0900 hrs on 19-Sep-2023.

The vessel was received by GTI's Operations Team and Emirates Shipping lines and a special memento was presented to the Vessel Master to commemorate the occasion. 

The VGI service opens a new chapter at GTI with its first ever connection to Vietnam. The service also calls at the APM Terminals operated Cai Mep terminal in Vietnam. The service connects to GTI through Laem Chabang and Port Kelang and then onwards to the Middle-East offering calls at Sohar, Dammam and Jebel Ali. 

Lifting the standard of efficiency

For the first call GTI lifted the standard of efficiency with a stupendous operational performance reaffirming GTI as the Terminal of choice at Nhava Sheva. The terminal performed 1913 moves at an average Crane moves per hour of 48.7 (a new record at GTI) and was sailed out in under 11 hours (less than half the time envisaged) with Port Hours Savings of 50.1 %, again a new record at GTI.
